Welcome to Palma and thank you for your interest in becoming
a part of this dynamic community, rooted in over a half-century of tradition
and pride.
-
Founded in 1951 by the Christian Brothers and a group of dedicated
community members, Palma is a private, fully accredited, college preparatory,
all-boys Catholic institution, grades 7 through 12. Our purpose is to provide
outstanding educational opportunities to talented and eager young men, offering
them an academic environment rich in diversity, strong in traditional values,
and sound in its academic foundation.
Palma offers a challenging and engaging curriculum that
prepares each student not only to attend, but to succeed at the college of his
choice. Students thrive in Palma’s diverse educational environment that offers over
20 honors classes, 11 Advanced Placement courses, 4 foreign languages, 5
technology courses, an award winning fine arts department and music department,
as well as a wide array of clubs and extra-curricular activities that serve
most any interest.
Outside the classroom, our students take a tremendous amount
of pride in their athletic achievements. Students participate in 13 varsity level sports and, as a
perennial sports powerhouse, the Chieftains boast 127 varsity level league
championships and 24 CCS titles.
Throughout the community, Palma
students are known as considerate and concerned young men. Palma students are
constantly reminded of the importance of compassion and empathy, and understand
that through service to others, they can broaden their own horizons, fostering
a spirit of kindness and gratitude that will stay with them for a lifetime.
Here at Palma, tradition prevails over trends. There is a long tradition of
outreach on campus and countless opportunities for students to give of their valuable
gifts and talents. This year the senior class has accrued an astounding 5,000+ hours
(as of 08/01/2012) of service to the community.
The Admission Office is here to guide you through the
application process, answer your questions and provide you with important
information. The best way to learn
about school is to experience it for yourself. We encourage each prospective
student to schedule a visit so that they can better understand what it means to
be a Palma Chieftain. We look forward to welcoming you!
Best regards,
