Austin Wahl '13 Drafted by Oakland A's

Austin Wahl ’13 was selected in the 23rd round by the Oakland Athletics. Wahl played both football and baseball at Palma. He was first team all-county as a football safety and went 9-1 with a 2.15 ERA in 15 appearances on the mound his senior year. Austin played two years of football at Cornell University before walking onto the Big Red baseball team becoming one of the top relievers in the Ivy League. After earning his bachelor’s degree at Cornell, Wahl began post graduate studies while continuing his collegiate baseball career at CSUMB. He was alerted that Oakland scouts were very interested and was subsequently selected by the A's in the 2019 MLB draft.
