Joey Dansby ’88 To Be Honored

Joe Dansby ’88 will be inducted into the California Wrestling Hall of Fame on Saturday, May 6, 2017. A Palma Grappler in the 105 weight class, Dansby went on to become a two-time NCAA Qualifier while earning his Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education from Cal Poly SLO. At Cal Poly he was also named the 1994 Physical Education Major of the Year. He was a three-time Olympic Trial Qualifier and a member of the US National Team. In 1997, he earned his Master’s Degree from Cal Poly SLO in Kinesiology. Dansby coached at Cal Poly SLO as an assistant from 1994 to 1997, before moving to Palma. He joined the coaching staff at Cuesta College in 2001 and is a teacher at Mesa Middle School. Joe also served as the National Freestyle and Greco-Roman California National Team Coach in 2000.
