Jorge Rico ’08 Named LLS Man of the Year

During a gala event on May 6th, Jorge Rico ’08 was crowned LLS’s Man of the Year. The annual gala, held at the Hyatt Regency Monterey, was in culmination of several 10-week fund raising campaigns conducted by supporters of LLS’s Man/Woman of the Year candidates. The Palma community raised their candidate’s, Jorge Rico ’08, total donation to $46,000, falling only $4,000 short of their $50,000 goal. The total earned Jorge the title of Man of the Year. By night’s end, an anonymous donor bridged the gap. With the $50,000 donation, research will be conducted in Jorge’s name. Jorge would like to thank the Palma community for all of the prayers and support during the campaign. “Palma won another award on Saturday,” remarked a grateful Jorge.
