Dave Esquer '83 Inducted into Salinas Valley Sports Hall of Fame

Dave Esquer graduated from Palma as the class of 1983 valedictorian and an accomplished three-sport athlete. He was a walk-on at Stanford and eventually earned the starting shortstop position, which he held when the Cardinals won the national championship in 1987. In 1999 he became head coach of the Cal baseball team and not only led the Bears to a College World Series championship in 2011, but was also named Coach of the Year. In 2017, he returned to Stanford assuming the job of head baseball coach. Dave was inducted into the Salinas Valley Sports Hall of Fame in a ceremony on Saturday, August 26th. Congratulations Dave.
