Saldana ’19 Takes First at Laguna Seca Race

It was a fun and special day at Laguna Seca on Saturday, March 11th, when Palma’s Mountain Bike Team Riders/Band Members performed the National Anthem during the opening ceremony of the NorCal High School Cycling League Race #2 event. Before their various heats, they were then treated by a special visit at the Palma tent by Canadian cross-country mountain biker, world champion, Pan American Games winner and silver medalist at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, Emily Batty. The second treat came at the end of the day with Matthew Saldana '19 finishing as the 1st place winner in the JV category. Congratulations to Mr. George Garibay and his impressive mountain bike team. Go Team Dad! Go Chieftains!
