Three Chieftains Selected for Boys State

Following interviews at high schools in Salinas, the representative from the American Legion has selected Chieftains to fill three of the five open spots for Boys State. Sam Lavorato ’19, Daniel Pezzini ’19 and Thomas Padilla ’19 were accepted into the program. Boys State is a program in which students become part of the operation of local, county and state government. Founded in 1935, participants learn the rights, privileges and responsibilities of franchised citizens. Boys State activities include legislative sessions, court proceedings, law-enforcement presentations, assemblies, bands, choruses and recreational programs. Congratulations Chieftains on this outstanding representation!
